If toothbrushes had a popularity contest, electric would be the cool kid in school. Studies show that electric toothbrushes remove more plaque and can make brushing more effective, especially if you’re the type who zones out halfway through (we see you, sleepy morning brushers). But manual toothbrushes are still a solid choice—budget-friendly, portable, and effective if used with proper technique.

So, which one is better? Well, it depends. If you have arthritis, braces, or tend to brush like you’re scrubbing a burnt pan, an electric toothbrush might be your best friend.
